Why you Procrastinate and Why Self-Love is the Antidote
Why you Procrastinate and Why Self-Love is the Antidote
You want to grow your business & brand. Right? Well, that means that you need to nourish your self-love as well. There simply is NO way around it. Also, it's the easiest way to deal with procrastination.
WHY?
+ Example1. You want want to ask € 1,500 for your amazing program ... But your self-doubt is stronger than your self-love. So instead of happily and confidently saying: "It is € 1,500", you talk yourself out of that price and price it down for € 497,-
And it makes you sick to your stomach, because you just know that price is so wrong!
+ Example 2. You have such an amazing idea. In your head you have figured it all out. Oh my! It's going to be so great. But one morning you wake up and all you feel is that heavy feeling of fear. Fuck, what if it doesn't work? What if someone else has already done it? What if nobody likes it?
And your fear transforms your entire body into stone. Voila! That's the reason you're procrastinating. It's just good, old plain fear.
+ Example 3. You have invested in a 'Sure Thing' kind of program. Thousands have followed it. You have friends who bought it, they took actions and Woooohooo! money and clients galore. So you decide it's your time and you jump!
However in the second week a nasty monster creeps into my mind and heart.
The ugly monster of self-criticism.
It tells you that your offer is nowhere good enough. Your list is too small, you are too lame, your idea sucks, money will never come to you . . . bla bla bla and you never implement anything.
Listen, it's okay.
Not even the most sophisticated strategy and systems in the world can help reach your next goal: - a 10.000 dollar launch, 2 new amazing clients, or your book finished - when you don't fully and totally love yourself
Again... Why?
Because you have been listening to this inner voice all your life:
"You stupid woman! Why have you still not reached your next level? I'm SO disappointed in you."
What is Procrastination
Procrastination is the action of delaying or postponing something. The word has origin from the Latin procrastinatus, which itself evolved from the prefix pro-, meaning "forward," and crastinus, meaning "of tomorrow."
It could be further stated as a habitual or intentional delay of starting or finishing a task despite knowing it might have negative consequences.
It is a common human experience involving delay in everyday chores or even putting off salient tasks such as attending an appointment, submitting a job report or academic assignment, or broaching a stressful issue with a partner. Although typically perceived as a negative trait due to its hindering effect on one's productivity often associated with depression, low self-esteem, guilt and inadequacy, it can also be considered a wise response to certain demands that could present risky or negative outcomes or require waiting for new information to arrive.
