Why Gratitude is a Gamechanger
Dearest Gentle Reader,
Here's a real story about powercut and gratitude for you.
Yesterday morning our electricity started to have a life of its own. So scary!
✔︎ On / off.
✔︎ Blinking lights.
Appliances that stopped and started. And stopped again.
We checked the electricity company.
The website said: Everything is hunky-dory at our side. If it's not working it's all on you.
Great.
I immediately went into: "It's the end of the world" mode and into: "I don't want to be a homeowner anymore. Too many responsibilities."
Rik (my husband and team member): "This is not good. Something is very wrong!"
* Me: "Stop saying that, You're freaking me out!"
* Rik: "I think we need a new boiler and heating ..... it's not good."
✔︎ Hot water off Hot water on.
✔︎ One Light upstairs went on and 3 lamps downstairs turned off.
What the actual fuck??
So we called a local electrician who was Unbelievably Helpful (no, I'm not being sarcastic. He was out of this world!!) He guided us via the phone to find out what was happening.
We ran up and down using our phones as flashlights. Diving into dark corners of our house trying to find out what was wrong.
There were a lot of spiders. 😱
* Me: "If you get yourself electrocuted I'm not going to touch you!"
* He: "Just stand there and report everything you see."
Pictures were taken and sent to the electric guy (whose holiday was starting in like 10 minutes! )
I was mentally calculating bills and was wondering if having your entire house rewired was something you could pay for in installments.
And then: nothing. NO power.
Electrician: "There's a message now! Your entire postal area has a power cut."
And BOOM! There it was: Next Level Gratitude.
- ❤️ For electricity (sorry that I had taken you for granted)

- ❤️ For this unbelievable mind-blowing Zone of Genius program we have created on that same laptop
- ❤️ For being in a country that is not being bombed and where no electricity is just every day surviving

- ❤️ For my relationship
- ❤️ Gratitude for being alive
GRATITUDE IS A GAMECHANGER
I must have said: "I'm so grateful." 50 times and suddenly everything feels so much lighter and fun.
I drank an espresso and it tasted so good!! I made tea and couldn't get over the magic of hot water and tea leaves.
My advice: start saying it now.
Gratitude is a gamechanger
In all honesty, gratitude is not my natural place. I'm not the eternal optimist (far from) so this was an extra lesson for me. Taking things for granted doesn't serve us at all.
It really works!!
And if you are reading this: I'm truly grateful for having you in my life
Sending you a hug and my love from afar

P.S. I recently found out that autistic and ADHD people have a hard time feeling deeply grateful for their talents because when they (when we) create something the excitement wears off within seconds.
We think it's normal and nothing special. We are having an extra hard time appreciating our magic.
Remind me to share something about this later, because I have created the most magical tool for this!
Have a wonderful weekend
