Dearest Reader
I just watched a 10-year-old girl of Maori descent sing and dance her heart out. Someone asked why she worked so hard to learn and perform and she answered: “To honor my ancestors“. I can feel that. Can you feel that too? Okay, think about this. Imagine that everything you do is based on honoring your ancestors. Not just those we knew in person and died: parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles. No, your great, great, great, grandmothers and fathers, the people we have never even heard about. I ask my ancestors to be there for me all the time. I ask them for guidance, to heal me, protect me and my loved ones. I can feel them around me. They comfort me when I need it. In return, I honor them by taking action that doesn’t always feel comfortable. Like selling spots to The Real You, or creating a video. After everything they have gone through, the sacrifices – and the horrible things they have done themselves -, it’s up to me to fulfill my birth purpose. These are my ancestors. (image below) I can only show 10 generations, but as you can see, there are huge gaps. My great-great grandmother Si Saia Pronowasito for instance. I will never find her lineage. I genuinely feel it’s up to me to honor her and her ancestors.
Their DNA is inside of me. All those squares are human beings. The empty squares signify the people who somehow have ‘fallen off the books’ (and trust me, I’m pretty good at research), we only have the names of those ‘in the books’. Yet, whether we have their names and dates, our ancestors they are still there. Inside of us. So, if you can feel this: what can you do to honor your ancestors? What talent can you share? What you can do now 1. Sit somewhere where you feel inspired (shower, garden, bed . . .) and call in your ancestors by inviting them to join you Tip: If you have no idea who they are. take this slowly, invite them in one person at a time, and feel. Feels good? Keep going. Not sure, ask someone else to come to you. Keep it light and keep the focus on the well-being of your body 2. Imagine, or feel, how their spirits join your circle. Maybe you see something. Maybe you feel something. Keep your attention on your heart and your body. Maybe they sit behind you, maybe they sit around you. 3. Tell them whatever you want to share. Sorrows, joy, problems, love. You can also ask them to give you signs, feathers, colors, and words so that they can communicate with you. You see, there’s a wealth of knowledge of experience in your lineage. There have been entrepreneurs, craftspeople, artists, musicians. There have been factory workers who wanted to be teachers. You can honor them by following through on your dreams. They want you to have and be everything they were not able to achieve. You can draw a circle around your name and – no matter if you know anything about them or not – write down all the things you need and desire right now. Clients, money, a new house, courage, fun, you name it. Ask them to be there for you. You can also invite them to be part of your spirit business team. Feel what works best for you.
